I want to start by saying the staff member who helped me was very friendly and helpful, and they let me cancel my reservation without any issues. That said, I feel it's important to warn other potential customers about the company's misleading advertising. I reserved a 10x13.5 unit online, specifically because I needed the 10-foot width for my furniture. When I arrived, they tried to give me an 8.5x16 unit instead. When I pointed out that these were two different sizes, they insisted that it was the "same unit" because they just "added the extra feet to the length." This is simply false. A 10x13.5 unit is not the same as an 8.5x16 unit. This kind of "bait and switch" advertising, where you're shown one thing online and offered something different in person, is not right. The dimensions of a storage unit are more important than its total square footage. If you need to store items that are wider than 8.5 feet, a unit with similar square footage but a different width will not work. While I appreciate the staff's professionalism in handling the cancellation, the fact that the company tried to convince me to accept a unit with completely different dimensions is a form of false advertising. It shows a lack of transparency that other customers should be aware of.

We’ve used this storage facility on two different occasions. Each time, Maricela and team were very helpful, providing clear instructions and information about the move-in and out process, and everything in between. We used their free move-in service as well, which was a great perk for our move. The units themselves are great - dual door shipping containers - I’ll never go back to that small roll-up door type of unit if these are around. So much easier to maneuver in and out of them.

I have been a tenant of CSI Richmond 3 different times since 2012. Other than being the most cost effective in the entire Bay Area, the fact that they move you in free is a huge bonus! The staff is the best! Mike, Maricela and Jose have been consistent with fabulous customer service! There is plenty of parking…. And easy access to all units. The environment is very lowkey, there are no narrow hallways or piped in music. It is very discreet and lots of room to do what you need to do. The customer base is excellent too. Never will you feel cramped or pressured when visiting the site. And an extra shout out to Maricela the office manager! 😃. She is chill, but also runs a tight ship! The aquarium in the office is worth the time to relax and stare into. You can relax and think while having cold fresh water available. This is a clean, well managed place (that, again, has the lowest prices in the entire Bay Area. Well worth the extra few miles to get to. Also there is a metal recycle just one traffic light down on the expressway. And the Golden Bear Richmond landfill is literally 5 minutes away… so if you have a lot of stuff you don’t know what to do with you can take it there even if you do not live in Richmond. They will accept landfill if it is coming from Richmond. Storage is a big deal and can be extremely stressful. CSI has the best customer service and stress free environment.
