DO NOT rent here! I repeat DO NOT rent here! Even with the police station being 2 minutes away, DO NOT RENT HERE! The cameras do not work. They do not have this high security system that they advertise on their site. They do not have a watch night person reviewing cameras. They do not have a local number to call even through the area code is local. Customer service is our sourced. My storage along with 2 others were broken into. Possibly more. I believe it was an inside job. The locks were not broken. They wiped out one person storage took 70” TVs, gold clubs, go carts & Heirlooms. For myself they stole all of my containers full of clothes, containers full of shoes, winter clothes, craft machines, TVs, Xbox personal items, craft heat prices, suitcases full of personal documents, my Glamaholic bags & trashed my storage. I was left with empty & broken containers. I am a government employee & was in the process of moving & I lost 80% of my items. They couldn’t tell me when the last time my storage was open because most storage has a sensor when the gate open. I called several numbers before I could get through. I was told to call police. I filed report and this is when I was notified there were other break ins. I even requested a manager to call me. Still no one has called. I contacted WFMY News and Mr. Kennedy investigated. They called and answered all his calls. I even sent several emails still no one contacted me. I want to know how this happened with supposedly high tech camera system advertised. They stated they have drones they do not and it’s false advertising. Whomever stole our of items had to had a moving truck because it’s no way you can wipeout 3 storages in one day. I am highly disappointed how it was handled. There are several news articles where they were sued due to wrong doings. I do not recommend. It is Headquartered is Raleigh and not one person called me back. I even emailed Andrew Capranos and on ok LinkedIn, he never replied. Your belongings are not safe. I moved my things out immediately & only time I heard from someone was an accounting person when I told them I was moving out & verified my card information was removed so I was not billed again. My storage was directly in from of two cameras. Police & Mr. Kennedy confirmed they do not work because they were from a staff member at 10 federal. They only have a gate with a code. Nothing is secure about this facility.

Update: It’s very frustrating to read the owner’s response to my original review. They give the appearance (for visitors here) that they want me to contact them so they can make things right, but they flat out refused to make it right when my storage unit was full, (over)paid in full, and I was still a customer, before I moved out. My review stands — buyer beware this location and company. There are too many good options around to waste time and money at 10 Federal. _______________ There are too many good storage options around to choose this place — I’d recommend choosing somewhere else, for a few different reasons. First, I signed up for $120 a month for a 10x20 drive up, with $60 a month (50% off) as a promotion for the first two months. But instead of giving me the advertised price they charged nearly $260 a month. I downloaded my contract when I signed up, but the contract they provided at sign up had all zeros for pricing. Then they sent a different contract later with the more-than-double price by email. Second, no one actually works at the storage location to assist customers. If you need assistance, you have to call them and either sit on hold, sometimes for a half hour, or request a “keep your place in line” call back that could happen the same day, or it could happen the next day, if at all. And that’s just to speak to non-management in a call center. Third, their management is hard (and slow) to reach when you have a problem, in my experience. I requested a call back from management through their call center, and it took 5-6 days for them to call me back, and then they refused to do anything about the price when I explained that the price they were charging me wasn’t the price I signed up for on their website, and provided them a photo of the pricing from their own website. I rented a truck to move in — 10x20 holds a lot — and then had to rent a truck again to move out after they refused to honor their previously advertised price. The whole experience was costly in time and money, and overall, horrible. There are probably 20 other storage places with 10 miles of here that are likely to honor advertised prices and offer service from an actual person on site. I’d highly recommend choosing one of them over 10 Federal.

I suppose it was just a little jarring to have a “no human experience” while checking in, but still pretty seamless. Clean space that’s easy to access any time. I sure am glad I purchased a dolly from Walmart, though. I’d definitely recommend renting a unit from Federal with those things in mind!
