I have been renting a storage unit with Extra Space for about 18 months. The location is rather far from where I live, so I don’t go very frequently—which says a lot. It’s sort of a dead weight I am carrying. However, I had a very positive experience over the phone with Rae this afternoon (12/16/2025). I had a payment past due, and she was very understanding and warm. She immediately helped me to put a new card on file to be charged for the month. This has consistently been my experience with Extra Space. As a grad student, most months I am late on payment; yet, the staff at Extra Space is always very understanding. Plus, I’ve never been charged a penalty fee! The price for a unit rental seems high to me (hence only 4 stars), but I have nothing else to compare it to, and LA is an expensive city. And the customer service is of a high enough quality that I’m content to keep my rental with Extra Space until I have more time and space to empty out my unit.

I called to get an update on my storage unit and a very kind lady answered. She was helpful and broke down all of my options based on my questions. During the call I was told she was the new manager there and I immediately understood why it was handled so well. I am not excited about the location, however I have always been impressed by the staff there. This location is clean, and ran well.

My experience was better than expected! Rae took her time explaining everything, showing me several units, and familiarizing me with the rental process. She made me feel comfortable with making my decision. I have no regrets whatsoever. I would definitely recommend Extra Space Storage and working directly with Rae!

My five star rate does not go to the Extra SpaceStorage itself, but it goes to an extremely exceptional employee, whose name is Nita. I had already been made a few calls using different numbers that I had found for Extra Space Storage. I was extremely upset. By the time I finished talking with Nita, I was able to settle down. I myself work in customer service and I’m embarrassed by the way I sounded on the phone like I did today. By the time I finished my phone call with Nita I was back to normal again thank you Nita. Because of Nita and her excellent customer service skills and all the kindness given to me while she had me on the phone I was able to calm down, continue on with my day, and with a smile on my face at the same time. Nita, Extra Space may not know how much of an asset that you are to this company but I sure do It’s because of you I’m not so upset anymore. Thank you for listening to us customers.
