I was moving and needed storage quickly. Safe and Sound Self Storage in Danbury made the whole process super smooth. The customer service was awesome and the call center was really helpful when I booked. The property is clean and feels very safe. The free move-in truck was a lifesaver! I’m very happy I chose this place. Definitely recommend!
So the latest update on this nightmare is I received an email this morning telling me my payment is past due (it was "due" yesterday and must be paid by the 5th to avoid late charges) saying the amount due it $374.65 but when I went to pay it it says I owe $396.30. Nothing I can do other than call the phone number which kept me on hold for at least 15 minutes before demanding that I leave a voicemail and they will get back to me. I already had one chance to leave a voicemail and opted to keep holding, the second time there was no option, just leave a message and wait for us to call you. I dare say I'm not holding my breath. Probably they are screwing up everyone bills and having to deal with all the calls, IDK. My previous review is below. I will come back to document how this newest problem gets resolved... Safe & Sound is under new management, with no one on site, and support people are in the Philippines. Not good. I rented the unit in early 2022 and paid around a $300 security deposit. New management doesn't seem to know anything about any security deposit. I was also promised no rent increase the first year, and it did go up the last few months and I should have asked for it back but I let it go. That was at least $50 extra I shouldn't have had to pay. Chuck used to be in the office all the time and was very accommodating but now there is no one on site. Including tax and mandatory insurance, my rent just went up again to almost $400 total for a 10 X 20 unit where my stuff is getting ruined. Also when I rented it I was promised they were not going to "sell out" like the other storage down the road did and now they have done just that. They expanded last year and excavated to put in more units and the dirt got in the air and went everywhere all over my stuff since units are not sealed well. Prices they are advertising on their website now are $142 for a 10 X 15 with first 2 months 75% off at $35.50. I got no discounted or free months and was charged a deposit, so I'm being severely penalized for already being a "tenant" of Safe & Sound. People on the phone have no idea what's going on with security deposit, say they will get back to me by email. If I hear back from them, I will write another review. They're asking for contact information but I don't know how to provide it other than publicly posting here. I already spoke to the support people in the Philippines about this and they said they would contact me by email, but I have not heard anything and it has been about 2 weeks. My rent increase takes effect next month, while new people are apparently renting almost the same size unit for less than half the price, with an extra 75% off that the first 2 months. Mine went from $348 to $360 (I think this was the now mandatory insurance charge) and now going up to $381 just since September. They are very prompt about emailing if the rent is a day or two late, but I have heard nothing about my deposit paid to the prior landlord. Please give me a way to contact you other than calling the Philippines, which is just a call center as far as I can tell. Thank you. I tried to post a screenshot of the price they are renting a 10 X 15 for now and one of how much my rent is, but it's not formatting properly and I can't figure out how to edit it. My unit is a 10 X 20, so 33% larger and costs almost 3 times as much. To be at about the same rate, it should be around $189, so it's about twice what it should relatively be IMO. I'm still waiting for assistance other than the response I got a month ago. I tried to attach an image of the email they just sent me when I was an hour and 40 minutes "late" making my payment. It's not officially "late" (as in $20 late fee) until after 5 days, but they sent me a nasty email after an hour+. It's due the first and at 1:41 AM on the second I got this email telling me to pay now to "avoid more delinquency." You can't make it up. 1 hour 41 minutes. I've got to get out of this nightmare...

I just recently emptied out my storage unit at Safe and Sound that I had for 10 years. I bought a house and no longer needed the extra storage. They are family owned and operated which is very evident in the way they treat their customers. They are extremely friendly and accommodating. The facility itself is super clean which is so important when you’re storing your belongings! If you need a storage facility, I would recommend Safe&Sound over and over.
I've been with SAFE AND SOUND since 2007 .I've always rented 2 units minimum and have been with them for so long because Chuck , the owner is a gentlemen and incredibly fair. He treats EVERYONE like family . BEST STOREAGE COMPANY IN THE BUSINESS HANDS DOWN ...
