In February of this year (2025) I acquired a storage unit through extra space storage. The price has now gone up twice as of today 12/1/2025. My original rate was $137 and has now been raised to $281. Do not let their cheaper online rate fool you. Due to the contract being month to month, they can raise the rents as they see fit with no just cause other than what they are calling "fair market value". For a small unit that got dirty with leaves and dirt incredibly quickly, I feel this steep price increase is robbery. The office staff is hit or miss. The day I checked into my unit, the staff was incredibly rude. That should have been my sign to run. When I called to discuss the rate, they generously offered to reduce my bill by $30. While the woman I spoke to today was friendly and sympathetic, it simply isnt work the cost.

Talisha(I could be spelling it wrong) Burrus, honestly has made a great impression on me. Yesterday was my first time getting a storage unit(26 btw) and I have to move out all my personal belongings within hours. & because of how I thought a storage unit operated, ohhhhhh how so far from the truth I was; because Talisha made it so smooth. She even helped me picked oit a unit PERFECT for my stuff. Explained all the minutia’s. To where i literally had no questions and even asked if they’re hiring part time😂😭😂. She has a lot of personality to so beyond my storage unit I was already drawn to her. KEEP HER AT ALL COST‼️✨

I would not recommend anyone store their belongings here. Last year, items were stolen from my unit, including a TV. When I reported it to the staff, instead of helping, they basically accused me of stealing my own belongings. I was shocked by the response and lack of professionalism. I even called the police to file a report, and the staff repeated the same accusation to the officer that I must have taken my own items. That makes absolutely no sense. Why would someone steal their own TV? TVs aren’t even that expensive anymore. After the incident, I researched the lock I was using and found it could be broken into fairly easily. However, that shouldn’t matter the entire reason you pay for a storage facility is to feel that your property is secure. That trust was completely broken. There are plenty of other storage options in West Haven. If you value your possessions and your self-respect, avoid this place at all costs.

I just stopped in the parking lot because I was having car trouble with my young daughter when an employee opened the door and started screaming at me to move my car and telling me that I was doing drugs and been there twice in the day which I’m not even from West Haven I just pulled over to check my car. They were rude. Very unprofessional and a very unkept place of business. I would never put any of my belongings in a place that is that gross and so rude. Their workers need to learn people skills
