StorSafe Huntley South is very well kept, clean and well laid out. Bill, who takes care of the facility, was very helpful and patient with us two newbies to self-storage. Bill and the condition of the facility inspire confidence. Being a newbie I had to call StorSafe a few times. Everyone I talked to was courteous and helpful. Thank you StorSafe.

Been with Storsafe since they bought the storage site from previous owner. I store a boat on a 30' parking spot that is primarily gravel. Storsafe constantly raises the price and everytime they raise it I have to call and get it lowered time and time again. I'll put it into perspective I started paying $110-120 when Storsafe took over now I am paying just under $170 a month. Mind you this is with me constantly calling and fighting to get some money taken off. Now new tenants start paying according to their website $112 a month for a 30' parking spot. I am paying more than a 40'-45' parking spot. They have zero answers when asked why for a parking spot it keeps going up every few months expect for operating cost and keeping pricing with market value. Which they have done zero up keep on the gravel where I'm parked, upkeep I understand if I had a storage unit but a gravel parking area nah. As for operating cost they don't even have an office at this facility anymore they closed and and outsource to a call center. As for market value, 30' parking spots in my area go from $90-115 on the high end. I would really reconsider going with storsafe if you plan on storing for long periods of time and get zero help from their customer service department with constantly having your rates raised. I hope this helps somebody from making a big mistake. Updated review Storsafe said to contact them. I did right after they posted. Sent email and still no response. They don't care about the consumer, just making money. Do not rent from them unless you want phantom price hikes. I will send another email and update.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to rent a unit. Customer service was very helpful. The unit access is great and signing in for the first time was simple. All the needed information was sent in a text and everything went very smoothly.

First time at the facility I had no idea where to go. I assumed the large overhead door next to glass entry doors was it. I have the Storage Genie app installed but it didn't open the door. I went into the glass doors to find some help. There are no physical people but a virtual manager. I spoke to her and she helped. The map on the tablets provided is absolutely pitiful. I entered the large blue overhead manually entering the code I already had. There is only room for one car and once you pull or back in there is no room to grab the only cart there to unload. You have to get the cart and put it inside the hallway then back the car in to br a ble to open the doors and trunk. I proceeded to my assigned unit but there was already a lock on it. I was under the impression that I needed to supply my own. I called the number I had and got the lock code. All worked out with a lot of unnecessary confusion. I received both a text and email that night around 10:00 with my lock code. Too freakin late. I went there again this morning to drop some things off and it all went smoothly since I already experienced the bad. It appears to be a clean place although there are a lot of dead bugs in the corners. I do feel a bit uneasy in the secluded area.
