I don't want to have to do this but I have to write a poor review for this Extra Space location. Despite 5 star customer service from the employees here (truly this is not their fault and the customer service is great), the facility itself is a negative 10 stars. We rented this space, sight unseen, to move our entire home into storage. We rented for the great rates we got and the customer service was kind enough to continually extend our rate while our belongings were in storage for 1.5 years here. I appreciate all they did for us. However, I KNEW, as soon as stepping foot into the unit the day our movers moved us in, that we were going to have issues when we moved out. I am sensitive to smells and there was an immediate odor upon entering the building. Just an overall unpleasantly musty smell. I will say after a couple visits seasonally throughout the year this did seem to go away or maybe my nose got used to it. Additionally, ALL of the ductwork (that sits exposed above your unit) is COVERED and coated in dust. My husband assured me this was "normal" with renting storage space and all I can say is, you don't know what you don't know. This was my first time renting a unit of any sort. I will later learn (from renting at a different/newer Extra Space location) that the smell and dust is not in fact normal. Now comes the best part- our move out day. Our entire unit was destroyed by mice. So bad that the moving team moving us said "we've moved a lot of storage units and this is the worst issue with mouse droppings we've ever dealt with". So much so that we had to dispose of one of our mattresses because they had made themselves right at home in the middle with a nest. The feces was everywhere and our couches smelled like urine in various spots. Some of our blankets and throw pillows are now garbage because they somehow molded. I paid Stanley Steamer $1,000 to professionally clean our couches, rugs, salvageable mattresses, etc but some things could not be saved. I cannot recommend avoiding this facility enough.

The staff here is always helpful and super nice. They take the time to show you the layout and explain all the details.. Wanna give a huge shoutout to Rob for helping me transfer to a bigger unit! And a shoutout to Terri, I believe is her name, she was also amazing when first getting my unit. Thanks to you guys and glad you’re here! Keep up the great work!

I spoke with Teri at the Reisterstown, MD location. She was more than helpful, she was cheerful and fun to talk to. She answered every single question I had, addressed my concerns with surgical efficiency and I hung up with a smile. (Hey, boss, she needs a raise)

Our family rented a unit shortly after this location opened in 2024. The customer service was courteous and professional from the very start. There were no hidden fees with the move in special like it is with some other storage places. It was easy to contact Terry and her team when we had questions. When it was time, the move out process was easy and smooth. I highly recommend this site and thank you for a great experience!!
