I recently made the decision to leave this facility due to a consistent pattern of unprofessional behavior, implicit bias and poor property management. During my time here, I experienced: Dismissiveness when raising legitimate safety concerns. Selective enforcement of rules that were applied to some customers while others freely violated them without consequence. Implicit bias reflected in how the property manager responded to complaints and how he chose to enforce (or ignore) "select policies" that don’t exist. Double standards that created an uncomfortable and inequitable environment. With limited parking in the loading bays primarily due to garage gate constantly being inoperable yet despite months of parking in the same designated area without issue, to which the property manager witnesssed when we've been in the loading bay area at the same time, I was suddenly told, without warning, that doing so would prevent my lease from being renewed one week AFTER a customer almost hit my car when she drove into the loading bay abruptly as I was about to leave. This was the second time this customer did this. She has a pattern of doing this to which the PM refuse to acknowledge. The first time she did this, she wasn't smart enough to flip the switch to open the other loading bay door so instead she entered where I was parked and squeezed through the polls to park in the next loading bay, again, almost hitting my car! The second occasion she pulled into the loading bay abruptly as I was preparing to exit, nearly hitting my vehicle to which the property manager proceeded to tell me that it didn't happen. When I told him I have dash cameras FRONT and BACK he became noticeably quiet. At no point did she stop, while she was on the phone as I was leaving the loading bay. She could have caused and accident to which Extra-space would have denied liability or acknowledge the safety risk she created when she nearly hit my car. Instead, in true fashion, she became a victim to a problem that she created. Most concerning, this is the second incident at this facility and the 2 near accident with this same woman. After addressing these issues and the pattern of selective enforcement, I discovered my account had been restricted without explanation. Only after I reached out did the restriction get removed. Selective enforcement, implicit bias, and double standards. This entire experience reflects a lack of professionalism, inconsistent policy application, and an environment where select customer concerns are not taken seriously. I hope senior leadership reviews these practices, because no customer should have to experience this.
I’m not suprised to see all the great reviews of Karen and Keith. These two are so nice and always give fantastic customer service. Super clean facility. I moved all my stuff out and they messaged me not even 12 hours later with a receipt and a note for my move out.

When COVID hit in early 2020, I put nearly everything I own into storage at Extra Space Storage (Willow Grove, PA) and moved from Center City, Philadelphia to Utah to be closer to family and my aging parents. I have had terrible experiences with other storage facilities in the past, so I did some research into what facilities had good reviews and reasonable prices. I chose this Extra Space location and truly hoped for the best. Today, I returned to my Extra Space storage unit to have Old City movers load up everything to bring it to my home in NC. I had emotionally prepared myself for my stored items to be a mess, for there to be a ton of dust and possibly even bugs on my things. It had been years, after all. I had even emotionally prepared myself for my items to have been rifled through or some items stolen, because that had happened at a previous storage unit in Utah (not at an Extra Space). When I arrived to Extra Space this morning, I had tried to keep my expectations as low as possible. My gate code worked the first time. My keys to my locks still worked and my locks looked as shiny as the day I put them on the unit 5 years ago. The facility floor was impeccably clean, as was the floor in my storage unit. Mind you, I’ve not been back to this storage unit since I had Old City movers load it up 5 years ago. I was in tears when I opened the storage doors. Everything was PERFECT. Everything was clean. REMARKABLY CLEAN. I took videos to send to my family because we’ve been through the storage unit drama in the past at other facilities. I couldn’t believe how great everything looked and how clean everything was. I am so grateful to this Extra Space facility for taking care of the facility so that my possessions would be safe and secure. I went down to the office to say thank you to the person working, and realized when I knocked on the door that the office wasn’t scheduled to open for another 15 minutes. There was a person at the desk and I thought, oh he may not open the door since it’s still early. He (Keith Travis) turned and smiled at me, quickly walked over to unlock and open the door and welcomed me into the office - as if it wasn’t 15 minutes before scheduled opening time. Keith was very helpful, kind, welcoming, and customer service-friendly. I HIGHLY recommend this location. My experience couldn’t have been better. Although I paid a lot of money for the storage unit in the 5 years I had it, it was worth it. Extra Space takes great care of their facility so that my things were cared for. Thank you, thank you!
Store Manager Keith was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient with me and my service. The atmosphere is clean and well lit. For all your storage needs this is the place!
