The Public Storage facility located at 11055 Dorchester Rd Summerville, SC 29485 United States Does not offer climate controlled units. Yet, they have increased the price for a 10x15 unit from $145 to $220 over the last 9 months. The first price increase was in February 2025 $145 to $175. I recently received a notice that November 2025’s rent is going to $220. If you’d like to speak to your property manager, good luck getting them on the phone, or any human for that matter. I’ve called multiple times over numerous days and left voice mail, to no avail. I had to google search “contact corporate” to even get a person on the phone, because when you call the local number it only sends you to a person if you’re inquiring about renting a space or to contact the property manager (who doesn’t answer or return calls). The nice person on the phone, when I called corporate, offered to drop the price from $220 to $196, which is still $20 more than what I’m currently paying. Total scam for a non climate controlled unit. Apparently they are known for this, as there are Reddit forums about it. I should have done more research before I went with them. Hopefully this helps someone else avoid this place! Side note, there is no person on site either, when you go to rent the space it’s all done through a kiosk. So if you don’t like being able to speak with a person, this is your spot!

Avoid if at all possible…They increase rates exponentially. One of the two gates is always broken allowing anyone access. The leaves are always blowing under the storage unit doors and there is evidence of rodents everywhere not to mention roaches. I was paying over $500 for two 10’x20’ units that were not climate controlled and moved all my stuff to a storage location off of Beech Hill where I already have other units. Now that they expanded I was able to get the units I was waiting for and am now paying $264 for two 10’x30’ units that are climate controlled and on the first floor. I’ve been at the location off Beech Hill for 5 years and have never had any of the issues mentioned above and on top of that they have on site property management so you can talk to someone face to face.

Horrible experience all around. Stored my belongings in unit A022 located at the end of the exit gate. This unit backs up to A023 that is located on the outside of the property and can be accessed at any given time. I started storing my belongings on April 14th 2025. I returned on April 26th 2025 to store more of my belongings. After that I returned on the 28th. My unit was doubled locked and no signs of damage to my locks. As I entered my unit, I noticed the majority of my belongings had been stolen from my unit, valued at more than 4,500$ worth of items stolen. It appears the unit A023 that is accessible from the outside gate was not locked and has access from the inside to climb over into unit A022. Would not recommend this storage place to anyone period. Hoping they catch this thief and I can recover my belongings.

Exit gate has been broken open for over a month. They charge over $125 per month to park an RV in here, what am I paying for? Can't get ahold of the office either. Update: After posting a bad review they increased my rent to $175 per month... I will take my busness elsewhere, I suggest others to do the same.
