We had the absolute worst experience renting a storage unit from this location. We had a large 10x25 “climate controlled” unit, I say climate controlled lightly because the lack of sealing around the door and exterior wall of the unit was completely lacking, allowing dust, dirt, and water into our unit and making some of our furniture unusable. The insulation used on the roll up door is the worst quality, throwing chunks of insulation all over our stuff every time we opened the door. To top it off, our rates got raised to $400 which is absolutely ridiculous and predatory. Never will I ever do business with Public Storage again. I highly recommend against moving your stuff into any Public Storage location because they are all known for raising your rates EXPONENTIALLY after less than a year.

This location continues to charge after you leave. I stopped using my storage two weeks before the end of the month. Nobody was in the office to close the account. I went back two more times and called a total of 5 times and nobody was there or would answer the phone. On the last visit the gate was still wide open so I went in and looked for an employee as people were standing around the office looking for one. When I couldn’t find one I exerted and left a message telling them I had been trying to cancel my unit for two weeks. I got a call back a week later telling me since I had driven on the property looking for an employee I was required to pay the next months rent. Even after my explanation and confirmation that they had received my message they still said I owed for a unit I wast using and tried to cancel multiple times and they said they would send it to collections if I didn’t pay. Pretty bad customer service.

This location is convenient and offers a low entry price but renters should be aware of aggressive rate increases. I signed in January at $60/month and by June (just 5 months later) received a 40% increase. After calling multiple times, I managed to get a short-term adjustment, but by September the price was going up again. The staff told me these increases are automated and unavoidable. Most storage facilities wait at least 12 months before raising rent, but here the pattern seems to be every 3-6 months. This makes it risky if you plan to store items long-term. For example, my in-laws also rent here and now pay over $220/month for a similar unit. If you only need short-term storage, the initial price might be attractive. But if you’re planning for longer use, be prepared for steep and frequent rent hikes that can double or triple your cost within a year. Also, even if you have an “indoor” unit it does not protect your items from being covered in dirt from frequent wind storms in the DFW area as there are gaps for some weather issues. I would definitely opt for a true climate controlled unit if you do decide to store here.
