MY RATE WENT UP $68 IN 4 MONTHS. I have a rather small storage unit, upstairs in the back - definitely not a prime spot. When I began with Extra Space I had a great promo for under $100 and then after the first month it went up to $100. Normally for storage units, they will up the rent maybe $10 - $20 within the first 6 months, that's expected. But a $68 increase, that is more than 50% increase in cost.. is actually ridiculous. Call it business, call it theft, call it what it is. Per this increase I will be leaving this storage facility. Be aware of this type of treatment. It will happen to you.

We had five storage units across the course of our move and renovation and had an extremely positive experience. Everything was clean and convenient, with trolleys to use as we added items ad-hoc. They even called us when we neglected to lock up properly. Many thanks to the team for such excellent service!

Stopped by after work one day to get some essentials for a weekend trip out of an upstairs unit. The only elevator was taped across indicating it was out of service. The only set of stairs was locked. Maybe they could have let me up through the stairs when the office is open, but the fact is I work a job, so I can’t come until the office closes. I’m paying $$$ per month so that I can store and access my belongings with ease…but I can’t access my belongings at all. Staff, at least send an email notification letting your patrons know ahead of time the issue with the elevator and that they will have to come during certain hours if they need to access the second floor. TO BE FAIR the customer service has been really good when I’ve come in during regular hours and needed anything. No other complaints besides this one. It’s just this is a big complaint because it defeats the purpose of having a storage unit.
