We’ve been renting with Extra Space Storage for the past 6–7 months, and the experience has been nothing but positive. The facility is always clean, secure, and well-maintained, which gives us real peace of mind knowing our belongings are safe. We recently upgraded to a bigger unit, and the entire process was incredibly smooth and hassle-free. A huge shoutout to the manager, Steve, who made everything so easy for us. He was professional, helpful, and made sure we understood all our options without any pressure. Very misleading rental descriptions. I paid for a 5x10 online. What I received was a 4x10. I chose that size specifically to fit certain items. I called and spoke to the manger. He kept repeating that there was nothing he could do and that they rounded up. If the unit was 4.5ft, I would get that. But as you can see from the picture, it's barely 47 inches wide (less than 4ft). His only solution was for me to get a refund or upgrade to a space that cost more than double than what I'm currently paying. He was apologetic about my circumstance, but also seemed annoyed by me questioning what i believe is false advertisement. Had the space been listed as a 4x10, i would have found another option. I can't change my location at this point because I'm having movers move my big items to that space. It's just a major inconvenience as I now have to figure out storage for my other items or pay movers again to move my items to another location. I just wish they would have listed the actual size of the unit.

Our cost increased after two months. It appears to be a scam to draw people in to rent the unit. They should at least lock in for a year. I wouldn’t recommend. The positive is that the workers at the location on Kiln Creek Blvd in Newport News are awesome. Friendly, polite and professional. The company increases prices is very unprofessional business practices. Don’t use

Best service my buddies and I ever had. Getting ready for a big trip and needed to pack stuff away for the time being. Luckily Steven was extremely helpful and is also a fellow service member who was more than happy to help us.
